How Does Tattoo Removal Work with Advanced Picosecond Technology?
Picosecond laser technology targets tattoo pigment and breaks it into smaller particles, allowing your body to naturally clear the ink over time by flushing it from the body through the lymphatic system. This happens over the course of multiple treatments, depending on many factors like the color, placement, skin condition, skin type, layering and edge of a tattoo.
Target → Break Down → Clear → Fade
Results and number of treatments vary based on tattoo size, color, density, location, age, and skin type.

We Believe in Upfront Pricing
We do have the best in technology for laser tattoo removal at this time: the Picofy. Unlike many tattoo removal devices that have taken up to 10-17 sessions in the past, the Picofy is removing tattoos in approximately 6-10 sessions. Disclosure: this may vary from tattoo to tattoo.

TATTOO REMOVAL ADD ONS
CO2 Lift Mask
Mask Application: $100
The CO2 Lift Prom Carboxy Gel Mask helps soothe the skin after laser tattoo removal primarily through carboxytherapy, which relies on a natural physiological mechanism called the Bohr effect.
Laser tattoo removal forces rapid energy into the skin to shatter ink particles, which can leave the area hot, inflamed, swollen, and prone to blistering or scarring. Applying a CO2Lift mask targets these issues through the following mechanisms:
1. The Bohr Effect (Instant Oxygenation)
When the two-part gel is mixed and applied, it infuses carbon dioxide (CO₂) transdermally into the skin. The body interprets this local spike in carbon dioxide as an oxygen shortage. In response, red blood cells immediately release a rush of oxygen and nutrient-rich blood to the area. This localized "hyperbaric" effect significantly accelerates cellular repair and speeds up the healing process.
2. Intense Anti-Inflammatory and Cooling Action
The application of the cool gel provides immediate physical relief to the "sunburnt" sensation caused by the tattoo-removal laser. Simultaneously, the sudden rush of microcirculation helps the body flush out trapped heat, fluid, and inflammation faster, significantly reducing post-treatment redness and swelling.
3. Deep Hydration to Prevent Blistering
Laser tattoo removal often traps heat and fluid under the epidermis, which can lead to painful blisters. The CO2 Lift Mask clinically boosts skin hydration by up to 117%. This extreme surge of moisture restores the skin's natural barrier function, making the tissue more pliable and helping to minimize the risk of excessive blistering.
4. Minimizing Scar Tissue and Fibrosis
A major risk of repeated laser tattoo removal is the development of texturized scars or dermal fibrosis (hardened tissue), which makes future removal sessions less effective. By stimulating fibroblast cells and optimizing the wound-healing environment, the mask ensures that the skin regenerates smoothly and evenly rather than forming dense, uneven scar tissue.

FAQS
What laser do you use?
InMode Picofy - the best technology available at this time. Picofy by InMode is the next generation of picosend lasers delivering maximum speed, efficacy and safety. It is a high performance, functionally optimized Nd:YAG picosend platform. Picofy is engineered with an unrivaled complement of innovative, patented features and delivers unmatched precision with exceptional speed and power.
How does laser tattoo removal work?
Tattoo removal is achieved by using lasers to fracture large pigment particles into smaller pieces so the immune system can more easily remove them. What happens in the treatment room is just the fracturing portion of removal, the actual removal portion happens over a period of time as your lymphatic system does the work.
How many treatments will I need? Can I fade my tattoo for a cover-up?
Every tattoo is different. Most patients will need between 8-10 treatments, but some may clear/remove within 4. Each individual is unique and may require more treatments while others may require less. If you are looking to fade for a later cover up, those often require 3-5 sessions. Dependent Factors include: Fitzpatrick skin type, Tattoo layering (if the tattoo is a cover-up), Location on the body, Ink colors, Amount of ink (vividness of tattoo, if it was professionally applied), how old the tattoo is, lifestyle, & Pre-existing scarring.
Can you treat colored tattoos?
Yes, we can treat colored tattoos. Your tattoo will be evaluated during your consultation. Treatment sessions may vary depending on pigment.
InMode's Picofy picosecond laser can remove red pigment effectively, while yellow pigment remains a bit more stubborn and challenging color
How Red and Yellow Pigments React
Red Pigment: Warm tones like red and orange respond very well to the targeted wavelengths (such as 532 nm) used by picosecond systems like Picofy. The ultra-short pulses shatter the red ink particles efficiently across most skin types.
Yellow Pigment: Yellow is one of the most difficult, stubborn colors for any laser to clear because light-colored and bright inks do not absorb laser energy as easily. While Picofy features advanced multi-wavelength capabilities designed to address a broad color spectrum, yellow ink typically requires multiple persistent sessions and may be harder to remove completely than darker or warm red pigments.
Do you perform tattoo removal on dark skin?
Yes! We perform tattoo removal on higher Fitzpatrick Skin Types with settings that are lower power to avoid complications such as hypopigmentation and scarring. Treatments are spaced 8-10 weeks apart to ensure skin health and recovery before additional treatments to avoid damaging melanin production on darker skin types. We also recommend using a tyrosinase inhibitor twice daily for 1-2 weeks prior to the laser procedure. We suggest this because quieting melanin production by inhibiting tyrosinase seems to decrease the incidence of postinflammatory hyperpigmentation after laser procedures.
Does it hurt?
Some discomfort is expected during treatment. Your provider will discuss comfort options with you. Discomfort is often described as a rubber band snap or hot oil pop. We provide numbing services in clinic and offer CO2 lift mask as an add on option to help reduce pain and promote healing.
Will tattoo removal leave a scar?
Any scarring that remains after a tattoo removal procedure is often left over from when the tattoo was originally applied by the tattoo artist - we call this a "shadow tattoo". We also offer microneedling which can help with scar revision after full removal.
Does laser tattoo removal cause cancer?
According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, laser tattoo removal poses no known risk for cancer. Lasers used for tattoo removal do not emit UV rays (Ultraviolet radiation), which can increase the risk of skin cancer.
How long do I have to wait in between treatments?
Sessions are spaced between 6-8 weeks. Waiting longer between sessions is fine! If you have a darker skin type, we’ll space your treatments between 8-10 weeks to allow your skin to fully heal and to avoid pigmentation issues.
